This Privacy Policy describes how Kundera ("Kundera", "we") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
1. Who we are

2. Data we collect
2.1 Data you provide to us
- Account data: first name, last name, email address, and password upon registration.
- Editorial content: instructions, context data, topics, and articles you generate or edit within the Service.
- Support communications: messages and files you send to the Kundera team.
2.2 Data we collect automatically
- Device information: model, operating system, app version, language, and anonymous identifiers.
- Push notification token: opaque identifier provided by your device to deliver notifications (you can disable them from system or app settings).
- Usage metrics: pages visited, actions performed, errors, and response times — used in aggregate to improve the Service.
- Technical logs: IP address, timestamp, and requested endpoint, retained for security purposes for up to 90 days.
3. How we use your data
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
- Authenticate you and protect your account.
- Process the editorial content you generate with AI assistance.
- Send you Service-related notifications (in-app, push, transactional email).
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and Terms of Service violations.
- Comply with applicable legal obligations.
4. Who we share your data with
We share information only with providers that help us operate the Service, under agreements that require confidentiality and limit use to the purposes described here:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS): hosting, database, and storage (US regions).
- Large Language Model (LLM) providers: OpenAI, Google, and other providers that process the editorial content you submit to generate articles. These providers act as sub-processors and are governed by their own policies. We do not use your content to train general-purpose models.
- Sentry: technical error collection to diagnose failures.
- Push notification services: Apple Push Notification Service (iOS) and Firebase Cloud Messaging (Android), used solely to deliver the notifications you requested.
We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties.
5. Retention
We retain your personal data while your account is active or as long as needed to provide you with the Service. After account deletion, we retain minimal information for up to 12 months for legal and accounting reasons, in anonymized form whenever possible.
6. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectify inaccurate data.
- Delete your account and associated personal data.
- Portability: obtain a copy of your data in a structured format.
- Object to processing for marketing purposes.

Delete your account
You can delete your account at any time from the app: More → Delete account. Deletion is irreversible: your personal data will be anonymized and you will not be able to recover access. You can also request deletion on this page.
7. Security
We apply reasonable measures (in-transit encryption via HTTPS, access controls, authentication managed by AWS Cognito) to protect your data. No system is 100% secure: if you detect an incident, report it to security@kundera.ai.
8. Children
The Service is intended for users 18 years or older. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with data, contact us to delete it.
9. International transfers
Your data may be processed on servers located in the United States. By using the Service, you accept this transfer.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Material versions will be notified within the app or by email. The "Last updated" date indicates when it was last modified.
